Here's a note received yesterday from Terry and Deanie. It will be wonderful to see them again.
...
We're back into riding around in an RV. After a dry spell and a couple of false starts we have purchased a 1991
Clarion Class C to hit the road in our previous mode, having sold the Winnebago Brave.
This small 23' front wheel drive motor home was built during model years 1991 and 1992 (when the factory burned
down). Only 273 were built, and we have #170. On a Ford F-250 chassis with a Ford 351 HD engine, 3-speed
automatic. A Coachmen creation similar to the 21' Rialta or Lesharo (a Rialta on steroids) we can expect 13.5 - 16 mpg.
With 65,000 miles, the rig has a few deferred maintenance items to knock out before our October Come Around under the leadership
of Jimmy, the Boy, who just spent a couple of nights with us here in Pensacola while scoping out launch points for his trailer-borne
sailboat. So we (including Summer) will not be spending nights in a Tennessee cabin but will be grazing with y'all in
the camp ground. This rig knows its way to Wal*Mart.

Here's the info and the request from Walt Baskin '59 concerning Williamsburg:
Attached is my first shot at a POD for the Come Around. Please note that I need head counts for several meals, tours
and the Golf Outing. I won't collect any money until you arrive. Please let me know if your plans change, so I can adjust
our commitments to avoid having to pay for something we don't use. I have reduced the Come Around by one day, so it ends
on Sunday, Sept. 27, instead of the next day. For those of you who have already included a Monday departure in your
reservations, just let me know if you want me to change this with the campground. The contact named Jenni at the Campground
is no longer there. You can deal with whoever answers the phone. So far, there are 26 people who have indicated interest
in the Come Around, some of which haven't made reservations with the Campground yet. Also, several people who plan to
participate, either live in the area or will be staying somewhere else. The Campground asks that they stop by the
office to get a guest pass when they come to the Campground. No cost is involved.
As I mentioned before, there
is a lot of information about tickets for various attractions (e.g., Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown/Jamestown, Busch
Gardens, etc. on the internet). Discounts are available for internet purchases. Also, I am collecting info about ticket
availability at MWR offices in the area. Let me know if there is anything in particular you have questions about.
Thanks
to Joe Jaap for arranging the golf outing, tour of Jamestown Settlement and Saturday night dinner at his home.
For
those people reading this on the Chapter Web Site, we have plenty of room for late additions, so sign up soon! So far,
the Class of '57 is in the lead with 3 participants.
